Gold Item Merchant Worth
I'm curious to know if anyone has an idea to how the merchant value of weopons/armour etc is calculated in the game.
eg I have a gold staff with average mods not a rare skin with a merchant value of 400 gold. Another axe same situation not max or the lowest req worth a big 440 gold to the merchant. Compare this to a perfect green worth maybe 35 gold in game. Now greens are supposed to be the ultimate in perfect weoponry and a step above the golds. So my question is how the game calculates the worth of a weopon and whats the most valuable gold weopon you have had drop for you in game.? |

The merchant value of a dropped item is random and has no relation to what modifiers are on the weapon. Also, greens are worth more (a few gold more) at the merchant if you identify them first.

Identified blue, purple, and gold drops are worth a little more if identified. I have never seen an unidentified green, and they always appear to be 35gp at the merchant.
Where do I get unid'd greens? I want to share in this new uber drop. |

If I remember it correctly they all were unidentified in the beginning period of greenies. Correct me if I'm wrong.

An item is unidentified if it doesn't display a gold value. Try using your id kits on your greens.

So if the merchant value is random why is a gold drop from shing jea worth less than a gold item from the jade sea etc. It would seem to me that some calculation goes into the value of an item depending on where you get it. And there must be a maximum gold value of an item in the game. Im just curious on what that would be if anyone knows.

It is all random.. meaning its completely random. It could be between eg 230g-450g however when it is dropped the value will be between that, no matter where you got it. (230-450 is just an example)

Sorry, I meant random within a certain level drop. All items' values fall within a certain range depending on the level of the enemy that drops it. For max level enemies (level 24 and above) the range for golds is roughly between 200 and 500.

If you use an ID kit on it, it will display the value and sometimes it will be higher than 35 gold. Same with white items, if you id them then you will get more gold. Quote:

i reckon its calculated using the factors: requirement, damage, mods, skin doesnt seem to take any place in it, but ive yet to find out about that.

The problem with that is that you can find two weapons with the exact same stats, mods, etc and the values will be different. Depends on which one the merchant likes more, I guess. >.> |

The highest merchant value I've seen for a gold was 500g.
And I've no idea how it's calculated. |

Yep, I reckon that the value follows a normal distribution which changes depending on what dropped the item.
The highest value I've got was 516g |
